Alice Street is Professor of Anthropology and Health at the University of Edinburgh and specialises in the development and deployment of medical technologies for under-resourced settings. Her current research focuses on the environmental and social impacts of plastic waste from single-use medical devices, and the value assumptions that drive wastefulness in global health. She also explores the emergence of alternative, more sustainable and equitable global health innovation systems.
